SWFText – Flash Text Animation Builder

SWFText is an author tool of Flash text animation. It embraces 160+ text effects and 40+ background effects, and users may also customize all the properties of a Flash, including font, text color, and layout, etc. With SWFText, a user without any experience of Flash development can easily create a Flash banner or an introductory page within a few minutes. And all you need do is to input text, select font and animation effects. While a veteran Flash designer may use SWFText for text animation in a project, which sure greatly saves your time and effort.

Candy’s Review:

Let me start by saying that SWF Text is -extremely- easy to use. It took me about 5 minutes ( [flash http://gfxcandy.com/banners/tutorials/swftext-test.swf linktext={Watch the video in an overlay} mode=3 caption={SWFText test}] or [flash http://gfxcandy.com/banners/tutorials/swftext-test.swf linktext={Watch the video in a popup window} mode=4] (5.5MB)) to find a perfect background & text effect combo to create this flash banner above. I had no trouble navigating around, changing background settings, setting up font, prettying up some effects… In short, I liked it! It’s not as good as SWF Banner but it indeed has some great features such as protecting SWF from being imported and great file compression without quality loss (this movie above is only 7kb!). Also worth mentioning is ‘export to avi’ publishing option (there is also ‘export to gif’ option but i wouldn’t recommend that – .gif file size is too big and quality is questionable to say the least (-> example <-)

- Created Flash movie can be customized dynamically by loading parameters from “FlashVars” or external XML file.
- ClickTAG is supported by generated Flash movie by default.
- Preview Window will be automatically refreshed upon any property change of the Flash movie you are working.
